Lula Groat passed away January 12, 2013 at age 97 following a short illness. A longtime resident of Edgewood and Centurion Commons in Forest Hills, she was born in Pittsburgh as the fourth of five daughters of George and Susanna Sekey on December 4, 1915. She graduated from Peabody High School and the University of Pittsburgh with additional studies in modern dance at Columbia University She taught physical education in Pittsburgh area schools. She was preceded in death by her husband Martin; and her sisters Helen Sekey, Olga Bowser, Violet Jessop, and Martha Wayman. 74, daughter of Dolores Thompson Redwood and the late Milton Blount passed away May 8, 2013, at Canterberry Nursing Home following a lengthy illness. She attended Madison Elementary School, Herron Hill Jr. (University Prep), and was graduated from Schenley High School. She had an insatiable thirst for knowledge, and pursued it as she received a B. S. Degree in Education, as well as, an M.S. Degree in Reading, Supervision, and Administration from Duquesne University, certification in Speech Therapy from Columbia University, New York, and a Ph.D. degree in Education Administration from the University of Pittsburgh; she also studied in England and Germany. Janet was employed by the Pittsburgh Board of Public Education for 33 years as a classroom teacher, supervisor, and administrator. Janet was on loan from the Board of Education to W.Q.E.D., as a television teacher. She was an administrator for Regent Square and Clayton Elementary Schools, until her retirement in, 1993. She received numerous certificates, plaques and awards for her untiring efforts. As a member of the Grace Memorial Presbyterian Church, 1000 Bryn Mawr Road, she sang in the Youth Choir and the Young Adult Choirs, was a Trustee and a Ruling Elder, and a member of the Pulpit Nominating Committee. She was a founder of Alpha Sigma (city) undergraduate Chapter of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. When she transferred to the graduate chapter she served on the Scrapbook committee, the Graduate Advisory Council and president of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. She represented the sorority at several Regional and National conventions. Janet is survived by her mother, Dolores Thompson Redwood; a brother, Carl Edward Redwood, Jr., (Tawnya); nephews, Maurice Bishop Redwood and Carter Woodson Redwood all of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; nieces, Donna Jenkins and Darlene Scott of California; other relatives and many friends. Friends will be received on Wednesday, May 15, 2013, at the Grace Memorial Presbyterian Church from 4-8 p.m. The Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Memorial Services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Thursday, May 16, 2013. Johnson; mother of Warren, Albert, Sr., John Johnson, and Lamarr Stevens, and the late Jordan, Vera and Leslie Johnson; sister of Dorothy Hall and the late Phyllis Hall; mother-in-law of Ronald Stevens, Sandra Carr Johnson and Rebecca Johnson. She was a former employee of Magee Women's Hospital, Ivy Nursing Home and Vintage Senior Center. Friends received Thursday 4 to 7 at GOODEN & BROWN FUNERAL HOME, 605 Brushton Avenue, EE. Fraternal Service 7 to 9. Service Friday 11:00 at Morningside Baptist Church, 4846 Sullivan Street, Garfield. Interment Allegheny Cemetery.

Loving husband of Barbara Kirlin; beloved father of Marcia Denis, David (Lyn) Stonage, Richard (Donna) Stonage, and Charles (Corinna) Stonage; devoted grandfather of Jennifer, Kevin, and David Stonage and Charles "Chip" Graff. Charles served in the US Navy for 40 years. He had a million dollar smile. Services and interment private.

Age 51, of Lawrenceville, passed away on May 7, 2013. Beloved mother of Nicholas Mueller and Thomas Mueller; daughter of Joanne Kunich and the late Donald Kunich; sister of Tony Kunich, Donnie Kunich, Nichole Bragg and Elise Kunich; survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and her beloved beagle Buddy. Rose was a lover of all animals and was known to take in any stray. Rose enjoyed traveling to Charlotte and Hilton Head to spend time with her family and made sure never to miss a Steeler game. Age 91, on February 12, 2013 in Sun City West, AZ. Born on August 17, 1921 in Pittsburgh, PA. He was a Manufacturing Executive for 38 years, a member of the US Army, and a member of Advent Episcopal Church in Sun City West. He graduated with an engineering degree from Lehigh University. Husband of the late Patricia Morris. He is survived by daughter, Anne Sheehy of Fairfield, CN and son, James Morris of Lake Forest, IL; also survived by grandchildren, Tanner Van Dusen, Rives Morris, Elizabeth Knox, Courtney Smith, Taylor Blaisdell, Max Van Dusen, Tate Van Dusen, Parker Morris, and Ella Knox.
